Below are some thumbnail sketches where I have outlined what I would like to include in my environment.

I started off by sketching some of the ideas I had for the boats and architecture:

In unreal engine I made a simple block out that I would be able to draw over for the thumbnails.

As I was thumbnailing I realised the elements of my environment felt disconnected, so in the fourth thumbnail I tried to harmonise them.

For my thumbnails, I thought about some of the composition advice from the book Framed Ink and I applied methods of perspective drawing from Scott Robertson’s How to Draw.
